Hummer is a brand of off-road vehicles sold by General Motors (GM). The original H1, best known, was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). Hummer was founded in 1992 and has its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, United States. However, with a rapidly declining demand GM has decided to sell the brand, or no buyer is found to dissolve the company.
