Great action shot.
As you are no doubt aware L60's were not the most reliable of engines until they were fitted with modified cylinder liners.

Thanks Stephen, The date should be 1984! Seem to remember going through more gearbox's than engines! Chris

Chris,
Following a House of Commons report in 1978 regarding the reliabilty problems with the L60 a programme to improve the engine, known as Sundance was instigated.
The modifications included new cylinder liners and changes to the gear casing and fan pulley casing.
From what I recall most L60's were modified at 38 Base Workshop REME, Chilwell, Nottingham and the programme continued into the early 1980's.
