Bedford RL - Light Recovery (FV13115)
Taken on 35mm film this well presented ex-military RL was seen the Wroughton Rally, Wiltshire, England in July 2000.
The military designation is :

Details of the vehicle and its equipment are as follows:
A standard 3 Tonne 4x4 GS (Bedford) chassis adapted for use as a recovery vehicle.
The equipment was designed for the recovery of all wheeled vehicles up to and including 3 Tonne in the General Service (GS) class.
The jib has a maximum safe working load of 3 Tonne at 2438mm radius, the hoist winch drive being taken from a PTO on the main gearbox and has a maximum first layer pull of 7 tonne. Provision is made for both front and rear winching.
With the assistance of a special sprag type earth anchor and two part tackle the winch can exert a maximum rear pull of 13 Tonne or a side pull of 6 tonne.
The suspended tow hook capacity is 3 tonne.
A cupola is fitted to the cab roof allowing a soldier to be posted as an air sentry.
The recovery equipment was built by Reynolds-Boughton Ltd and the body work by Marshalls of Cambridge.
