10/7/2011. Buckfastleigh 1940's weekend.

This one does belong to the "real" army or at least the Cadets. The proud young man is a cadet and has helped with traffic control at several galas on the railway along with his fellow cadets.
I see a modern gas mask on the Land Rover's wing.

I don't think any lightweights are still in the inventory. The registration index dates from the mid-1970s.

BTW we don't call them "gas masks", they're respirators, and this is the S6A, which I believe has been superseded in service. I used one until I left the service (1980)
